PostHeaderIcon Visualising is the key!!

What is it that separates the highly successful individual from the average or even successful individual? Why is it that one person seems to achieve extraordinary results on a consistent basis and another, with nearly the same training, hits and misses their accomplishments?

The success technique to which I am referring is visualisation. I guarantee that “visualising your results is the key to realizing your results.” Visualising is one of the most important techniques you will ever learn and one that is utilized by all high performers.

Visualising is your key to success for two reasons: Your mind thinks in pictures and images; Your unconscious mind drives your behavior. visualisation

Your unconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between something that is real and something vividly imagined. Whatever picture (goal) you consistently think about will drive your actions to create that exact picture. When you continually see yourself in possession of your goal, your unconscious mind will move you into actions that align with the mental image you hold.

Here’s a quick visualisation overview to assure your goal achievement:

  1. Create a clear mental picture. You must associate a picture to your goal. You should picture yourself in your vision, rather than watching yourself achieve your goal. This “fine point” separates the masters from the masses. You must create a picture that is so real you believe you already have achieved your success.
  2. You must “experience” your vision. You must be in your picture, looking through your own eyes… seeing, hearing and feeling everything as if you have already achieved your goal. You must create the emotion of the moment in your own body.
  3. Visualise your goal at every opportunity. Bring up your mental picture while waiting at a stop light, when you’re on a break, before your next meeting. The more frequently you plant your picture into your unconscious mind, the more rapidly you will begin to realize increased results in your life.
  4. Visualise first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The best time to visualise is in the morning right after you wake up and just before you go to sleep. These are the times when your unconscious mind is most open to influence. When your conscious mind relaxes, your unconscious becomes very receptive to your thoughts, dreams and ideas–particularly ideas with high emotion.

So make a commitment right now to create your picture of achieving your goal. All great masters have taught that we become what we constantly think about.

For me, I personally believe that a basic meditation C.D is the best way to sit and relax and visualise. Head to your local music or go to itunes to purchase. If you are in Canberra I would head to the Heirophant at the Griffith Shops for a huge range of C.D’s to choose from.

PostHeaderIcon A Question of Balance

A post about your balance in life, family, fitness, business

scales

At times, everyone’s life will be out of balance.

In order to realise our goals some sacrifice will be necessary. To me, balance is best explained as a centre point to which we keep returning from bouts of relaxation or pressure. It’s like the grey area from which we deliberately choose to step away or step back into.

When we play tennis we react to the ball best when we’re at centre court. Sometimes we throw ourselves at the net, sometimes we chase the ball to the side, but at all times we’re aware of how exposed we are and our need to get back to centre court - our balance point.

Perfect balance is a state of non-movement. Life’s too fluid and dynamic for this state to be maintained for long periods. If we want to get ahead in life, then in almost anything, it requires work, effort and a personal stretch.

The answer lies in knowing how to relax, and how to push when required. We also need to recognise the state we’re in at any given moment, and then make a conscious decision to maintain or alter that state. Is it time to relax or, go for it?

If you choose to push it then, support your decision by:

  1. Not missing an exercise workout. A workout will burn off excess stress and leave you calm and rational.
  2. Always eat breakfast. This sends a message to your body that all is OK and prevents the body from wanting to store bodyfat.
  3. Discuss with your family the period of time you’ll be out of balance and the reason you’ve made this choice.

If you choose to relax then, support this decision by:

  1. Leaving your briefcase at work - don’t take it home the night you intend to relax.
  2. Take your watch off …you’ll soon get out of time.
  3. Eat lunch away from work stimulants such as the computer screen.

Know the cost of deciding to go for it, or to back off. And, take responsibility for that decision.

Balance is a destination never arrived at. Its knowing that its your choice to maintain or reject your current state that’s important.

24 Things To Always Remember

by: Author Unknown

Your presence is a present to the world.

You are unique and one of a kind.

Your life can be what you want it to be.

Take the days just one at a time.

Count your blessings, not your troubles.

You will make it through whatever comes along.

Within you are so many answers.

Understand, have courage, be strong.

Do not put limits on yourself.

So many dreams are waiting to be realized.

Decisions are too important to leave to chance.

Reach for your peak, your goal and you prize.

Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.

The longer one carries a problem the heavier it gets.

Do not take things too seriously.

Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.

Remember that a little love goes a long way.

Remember that a lot … goes forever.

Remember that friendship is a wise investment.

Life’s treasures are people together.

Realize that it is never too late.

Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.

Have heart and hope and happiness.

Take the time to wish upon a star.

AND DO NOT EVER FORGET, FOR EVEN A DAY, HOW VERY SPECIAL YOU ARE !

PostHeaderIcon Why People Fail at Fat Loss

Why is it that most people really know what they want, but just refuse to go after it?? too-hard-fat-loss

The starting point for everybody and the number 1 reason where most people fall down is:

  • 1. most people procrastinate, are lazy, and have a poor mental attitude about what they BELIEVE they can actually achieve.
  • 2. reason for failure at fat loss & achieving their dream body is most people have ineffective training routines

3. poor dietary habits.

The reason I put beliefs in front of the actual details of training/nutrition for weight loss is because your brain and your mental status is the true starting point for success in anything.

 This involves:

* BELIEVING that you CAN actually achieve it

* DECIDING exactly what you want (how you want your body to look, how lean you want to be, how much confidence you want to feel, how much energy you want, etc)

* Making sure you actually have a BURNING DESIRE for what you want to achieve

* Setting/documenting EXACT GOALS for what you want to achieve ( body, ideal weight)

* VISUALIZING and “feeling” what you want to achieve

* Taking massive action NOW to start achieving (no procrastination)

In order to be successful at anything, excuses must be thrown out the window… there is no such thing as bad genetics, no such thing as “not enough time”, no such thing as “it’s just too hard”… no excuses at all for not achieving what you desire.

This is the stuff nobody ever wants to talk about, but this is more important to get right first before ever dealing with the “details” about workouts and how to eat for fat loss or any goal.

You must learn to work from the inside out. If you cannot change the inside then the outside desire will not appear.

If you want to get your mindset straight, and also set yourself on the right path with the “details” of your workouts and dietary strategies, then we can help you.

Simply send us an email and we will assist you down the right path, but remember you have to want to do it and be willing to change.

PostHeaderIcon I Need Your Help With This….

Ok, so as most of you know I have been fortunate enough to have been asked to sit a national panel of people along with myself as the Australian Fitness Expert.

Anyway, to make the night run  a bit smoother and not leave us totally out in the dark, they have been kind enough to send through an outline of a some of the questions and one of them has really stood out for me.

Most of our clients have kids of varying age and it is no NEWS FLASH that Australia is now the FATTEST country in the world…. and I was wondering if you could help me out before I sit on this panel on the weekend with a few answers to the great fat and weight loss debate??

Help Wanted

fat-kid-2

Who’s role is it to turn the state of the nation around?? Is it up to the government, fitness trainers and clubs, the individual??

How can we help our kids? What can fitness trainers, clubs, Government do that could help this cause?

I would love to hear your feedback on this, and if I like it, it may even make national Television on the panel when I talk about this topic!!!

PostHeaderIcon History of NLP

HISTORY OF NLP

Neuro Linguistic Programming is a hybrid science that was developed in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s by computer scientist, Richard Bandler, and linguist, John Grinder.

From the combined perspectives of their respective sciences, they began a study of three therapists. The therapists were producing excellent results, transforming their client’s ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. They modelled Family therapist, Virginia Satir, Gestalt therapist, Fritz Perls and hypnotherapist, Milton Erickson, who legitimised hypnotherapy as a healing treatment modality accepted by the A.M.A. (American Medical Association).

Bandler and Grinder were looking to discover exactly what transpired in the minds and bodies of patients at the moment change occurred. They asked what specifically caused the change and how they cold replicate it more quickly and efficiently, without years of therapy.

In addition, Bandler and Grinder examined what was occurring in the minds and behaviours of the therapists who achieved such great successes with their patients. Bandler and Grinder wanted to describe the steps of the therapeutic process itself to teach others step by step how to achieve the exact same result in less time.

The techniques Bandler and Grinder developed by modelling Satir, Perls and Erickson are so concise and effective that the behavioural changes that used to take years now can occur within a matter of hours or minutes. In the decades since its inception NLP has proven a reliable and fast way for people to gain control of their minds and therefore there results.

NLP offers highly refined tools to take charge of every area of life in the most effective and efficient way possible to produce results. It enables individuals to proactively design their physical and emotional responses and therefore, their results.

The three components of NLP are:

 NEURO

  • Sight (Visual)
  • Sound (Auditory)
  • Touch (Kinaesthetic)
  • Smell (Olfactory)
  • Taste (Gustatory)

Understanding how the body and mind neurology works to better direct it toward more effective thoughts and behaviours.

Creating new neurological pathways that break through mental boundary conditions.

 LINGUISTIC

 Becoming aware of how communication occurs within self and with others;

  • Pictures
  • Sounds
  • Feelings
  • Tastes
  • Smells
  • Internal dialogue

Using language to guide the mind toward change.

Speaking to others within their particular representational system or their model of the world.

 PROGRAMMING

Understanding the mind is like a computer with though patterns as the software and discovering what programs are determining current experience.

Using specific tools and techniques to reprogram, upgrade and install new software for optimal high performance.
